05/28/2023 01:22AM Pretty much one really good campsite but that campsite is awesome! I camped in it last year with those boys! Didn’t really note the fire that much on Baird. If you go on PP I submitted a few pictures and a rating. Metacryst and Heronshaw definitely were burned in areas. Ryan |

05/27/2023 07:28PM That sounds like quite the adventure! The beauty of Quetico, as others have stated, is the availability of permits and never as crowded as the BW during June, July and August. I wish the BW had a similar permit system. |

05/27/2023 10:36AM Sounds like an awesome trip they’re sure to remember! Lots and lots of great water on that route. I pretty much always book my Q permit 5 months to the day in advance, but that’s obviously not necessary. More of just a part of the excitement of the trip being a little closer than before that. |

05/27/2023 04:41AM Permit availability is another nice benefit of Quetico. They are going to see a good part of the northern part of the park. Expect your ‘new’ canoe to come back well ‘used’ lol! Beaverhouse is a favorite entry of mine. I’ve paddled that lake when it was like glass and I’ve been on it when I couldn’t get across to the ranger station. Thanks for sharing their trip itinerary. 05/27/2023 01:20AM My son and his friend are going in as a graduation trip. Had planned on doing the Superior Hiking Trail, but I offered up my new canoe and they are going to trip in Quetico again this year. They are planning a huge loop starting at Beaverhouse, across into the Poet Chain, then Baird and down to Kahshahpiwi. Then over through the S-Chain to Agnes, Louisa to McEwen, Kawnipi, then north up through Bisk, Beg, Bud and out at Stanton Bay. Planning on a 16 day trip. Somewhere around 170 miles if they double portage. They debated on going in from the south at PP, but his buddy would have needed his RABC back in just a little over a week. Just made sense to go in from Beaverhouse and they will see a good bit of the park they haven’t been in before. I was honestly surprised at how many permits were available!
