Yeah, he was surprised by the laker on Burntside also. The 29 was Fahrenheit....little shivering in the sleeping bag that night

A grand slam on Burntside? I didn't know it had lake trout. It's not even listed.

That beach site on Sturgeon is really a novel place. I've visited it a couple of times but never camped on it. A bit too sandy for a temporary home for me. I assume the 29 degrees was Celsius?

I see there is a fire ban in place now. It was VERY dry towards end of our trip. Was suppose to rain day we drove home but must not have been much. We figured ban was coming.

Went in 5/20 at Nym to Batch. Ice had been off Nym 8 days. Spent night at Voyageur Wilderness Outfitters at their island lodge. Great place. Batch, Jesse, Q, Jean, Burnside, Sturgeon, Lonely, Maria...back out Batch. Cold waters warmed quickly. Had my grand slam by day 3. Blue walleye on Q. Buddy had grand slam day 3 on Burntside. 29 degrees one night on the sand point site on Sturgeon. Last 2 days in 80s. 4 solo canoes.....70 miles. Water levels were not high except for Sturgeon. Creeks and rapids were "normal" to maybe low?? All in all great trip.
