Pulled my canoe and packs up to the parking area well off to the side behind some vehicles and left them while I walked back. It’s a busy EP and I wasn’t sure I made the right choice, but all was well when I returned. Still not sure I would do it again that way but it was my only option available that day."

Did that exact thing earlier this year on this trip but, that was a much shorter walk than Lake One to Snowbank would be.

We did this once, entering Stuart and exiting Nina Moose. Stashed bike near exit. Worked great.

Over the years I have left gear and boat at take out while walking back to entry to get the car. I have never had a problem and more often than not someone stops and offers a ride. I don't know how prevalent problems with theft are but I wouldn't be concerned

At the completion of my trip, upon arriving @ Kawishiwi Outfitters on Lake One, I went in & asked if they would give me a ride back to Snowbank. They were happy to do so. If I remember right they charged me $20.00 and I was able to leave all my gear behind (off to the side) while they shuttled me. "

Awesome trip report! And thank you for that info, maybe this will be my plan then, seems simple enough!

Hello,

I am planning a Spring solo trip to leave from EP 27 and exit EP 30. Regardless of whether I leave the truck at EP 30, or if I leave it at EP 27 and walk back after the trip, I would be leaving my canoe and gear unattended for about an hour on either side. Should I even consider this? It's 4.5 miles from landing to landing which is about an hour for me at dog-walking pace.

I dont know that I really want to stay overnight at Snowbank Lodge beforehand but it certainly would solve the problem of my belongings being safe and shorten my walk by a mile, not to mention allowing be to be on the water super early. Looks like the motel-style rooms for 1 person are $105/night plus $10 for the dog.

Anyone made that walk before and left your gear and canoe stashed at either end?
