There are some lunker lakers in there. There is a LOT of water in the 175-200ft depth range. A fish finder helps a lot on the lakers.

Crutch5, my brother and I are heading up there in late May 2015. Would you mind sharing your knowledge Sarah lake and others close by with me? I promise to keep your secrets safe!

I've caught several hawg waldos in McIntyre. It's mostly a night bite.

Yup. No walleyes, although I've been told by some old heads there are some. Over the last few years, I've targeted mostly lakers. Have caught a bunch of small smallies. There's also some large northerns that lurk in the southern half.

I've only caught Smallies (by the bucket load)--bad infestation on that lake.....and lakers when On McINtyre. Walleyes are supposed to be in the northern part of the lake near narrows or around the small islands.

The two campsites on the northern island are very nice. The site to the north has a rather unique fire pit.

I don't think McInytre has any walleyes in it, but a couple years ago I couldn't keep 8 inch SMB off my line. Looks like another lake invaded by them.

Thank you to all who have replied, very helpful. Any recommendations for walleyes or smallies on around McIntyre?

Agree with Tom, awesome site. There are a couple other nice ones on the West side of the lake too.

I've camped two different times on the northern island big southeast side site. It's one of my favorites in all of the Q. I caught a nice 28 inch laker off the southern side of the island.

We are planning to get towed to Prairie Portage and then make our way to McIntyre Lake. We're planning on fishing the 1st week in June. We've fished the BWCA several times, but never Quetico. Looking for any advice for good campsites on McIntyre, as well as good fishing locations (walleyes, smallies, lakers, pike...anything and everything). Any creeks/streams with moving water coming into McIntyre? I appreciate any advice. Feel free to email me if you prefer: djpalmer3@gmail.com. Thanks.
