Trouble with some of the new commercial rubber ones or homemade is the rubber streches to much or is not thick enough."

Pinetree, back in the '60s my dad use to do the same - I still have a couple pairs of those harnesses made from the truck tires from the mines around Eveleth! Use to give them away as Christmas presents to kids in the neighborhood"

They were the best,I know even the DNR wildlife dept. was using them.

Just put on a new pair of Bob Maki's about 2 hours ago. I got them at Marine Gen'l Supply in Duluth - they always seem to have them. I have a pair sz large, but I got XL this time. I wear a men's 10 Steger mukluk. The large felt rite. I also have done the insulated hiking boot/gaiter combo and that worked well in warmer temps. When it is below 0 to about 15 above, I use the mukluks. They are good bindings. The only problem I've had is that the ties are about 2" too short - they come about 14" long, could be 16",

PERFECT!

Thanks PortageKeeper.

Here you go...

These are large, size 6-10. I would worry more about changing the length than the width, unless you are wearing heavy pack boots. Personally, I prefer insulated hiking boots and gaiters.
Yes, they are a little pricey.

I wear a size 11 which I believe would be the extra large. I realize I'll probably need to "tinker" with the sizing as inner tube rubber will stretch differently.

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

Thanks!!!

Which one are you looking for? I have both.

Does anyone have a pattern for Bob Maki style snowshoe bindings or have some Maki bindings that they could trace? I've got lot's of rubber from innertubes but I'm having a tough time getting the pattern right. It's tough to find these bindings any longer and if you can they are not cheap.

Thanks!
