05/02/2014 09:52PM Sounds like a legend, and I have not done the cache bay route yet. Over the years I just keep hearing great stories about Janice. Its great in this world when we get public servants who care about there work and do a outstanding job. I may have to make a trip that way before she retires. |

05/02/2014 06:21AM My spring group went through Cache Bay five years ago on her 25th anniversary (also the parks 100th) right before opening. She told us we were the first visitors of the season. Congratulations on another milestone Janice! |

05/01/2014 11:04AM For those of you traveling into Quetico via Cache Bay I believe this will be ranger Janice Matichuk's 30th year on that little island. Over the years I've learned a great deal from her about enjoying, caring for, and maintaining this wilderness wonderland she so dearly loves. She also has many entertaining stories she likes to share about life in the north woods. As you pass through her station this season give her a hearty pat on the back for her many years of service. She does enjoy small gifts of fruit and dark chocolate too! |
