Thanks everyone! I have ordered and some maps from Fisher.

I have this book but I don't use it much because it sticks to the major routes, whereas I usually want information on side routes. This website and other Internet resources are much more valuable, in my opinion. Plus, the book is dated when it comes to regulations - though probably not that much has changed, you would have to double check. That said, if you have not been to Quetico much, it probably does provide a good overview of the different entries and main routes. Like Beymer's BWCA guides, I think his "days" tend toward the long side, even for reasonably strong paddlers (but maybe not if you single portage).

Fisher maps has them for 10.95 which is 5.00 cheaper than elsewhere. That would offset extra shipping costs.

Kelsey,

A book will not be held up at customs. They haul mail by the semi load to Canada and that stuff passes right through.

I have that book and used to use it for most of my trips back in the early 90's. Like all of his books, it's worth the read.

Tom

Not too sure, I just would like to get the book sooner. Sometimes things can get held up at customs when shipping over the border.

Does the BWJ or Piragis charge more for shipping to Canada?

Only used copies from other users...

Did you try Amazon?

Does anyone know a place in Canada that will ship "A Paddler's Guide to Quetico Provincial Park" by Robert Beymer?

Or am I going to have to go with Boundary Waters Journal or Piragis?

Thanks,

Kelsey
