On our recent trip to Seagull Lake the first week of August we could tell water levels were down at least 2.5 feet from our June trip to Quetico and Silver Falls.

If it's still rollin through silver falls is it logical to assume that water levels and volumes are also high in falls chain? Don't want to hijack the thread, just wondering if a late season solo through that area would be worth it or maybe plan for another route?

On my way back from Cache Bay to the Sag entry I had a strong north wind at my back and made it across the lake in record time. American point was crowded with campers unable to get on the water do to the boiling rollers. I watched tow after tow drop people off. What a mess.

We were there on the 13th too. The sheer volume of water going over the falls was frightening. Lots of wind, rain & cold heading up 'Gons to Cullen. Rest of folks I was paddling with were heading in the Falls chain. Do-able with lots of caution (ranger at cache-Janice). I opted for Cullen and back out. Monday was windy on the gons. Silver Falls was obviously cruising with the added rainfall. Tuesday was flat water paddling all the way back to Hook. I imagine that condition has again disappeared though. What a difference :)

This is a little late but we went through Silver Falls on Sat. May 31. It was our first time so I'm not sure how to judge the flow. We made it fine but the ranger (Janice) said it was high. We did not come out Silver Falls.
