I hope it is booked! I have a trip on the Man Chain with my daughter and her cousins and uncles planned for this August. Going during the Perseids Meteor Shower. Should be nice.

The father/daughter reports that you and Ducks post should be enough to convince her.

What better time to start the talks than tonight...during a snow storm! :)

I hope that talk went well for you MagicStik. You won't regret it. Some of my more precious moments with my daughter have been on canoe trips."

I heard from a good source it's booked :) Have a great trip!

Kiporboy,
You're writing a fantastic book for your daughter to have as a keepsake and share with her own kids and grandkids!!!! Thank you for letting us pre-view! Looking forward to many more chapters.

Excellent report! I always appreciate your writing and the willingness to share the adventures of Lauren and yourself.

She is growing up so fast.

I can't wait until the next one!

Happy paddling.

Glassy calm both ways on Sag? You're lucky. I've ridden some roller coasters there.

P.S. I don't do tow boats either.

Thanks for taking us along. Watching your daughter grow up is (and has been) a special treat! What a great way to grow up. Oh ya- good maps, wonderful photos and the videos were pretty nice too.

Great report and pictures. Loved the smiling face on your daughter, AND the "road less traveled" with names!!! Thanks for sharing. --Goose

Nice report Lt Dan. I could feel the daddy-daughter bonding. Lauren is getting soooo big. What a little doll she is. Thanks!"

Yes, she's a great kid and very beautiful. I imagine I need to practice my routine for greeting the gentleman callers when they start coming to the front door in a few years. Lauren will be plenty tough to deal with boys, but Dad needs to make sure.

Great report. I wish we would have been into paddling adventures when our kids were young. Such a great experience for you daughter and yourself.

Looks like a really nice area and it has just gone down as one of our possible destinations for a trip next year.

Great trip report. It looks like you had some really nice campsites there.

Excellent trip and report. My kids are way too busy with their own families now. Enjoy this time and hopefully you and your daughter have many more trips in your future!

I also noticed that you have videos within the report and I am having trouble doing that while writing ours. How did you actually get the videos in there?

Thanks!

The videos were imported into YouTube first. Then, I copy the embed link from youtube into the trip report.
Kiporby 08/10/2014 01:36PM
Thanks for all the nice comments! I think the maps were not working at first, but they should be fixed now. Hopefully you can all see them now.
PinkCanoe 08/10/2014 01:08PM
That hands down is one of the best trip reports. How lucky is she?? !! She was just full of smiles. What a wonderful memory to be made..and many more.

I thoroughly enjoyed the photos and videos.

Thanks for the nice trip report and pictures, Kiporby. I still remember reading the first one. We see her again every year or so and she grows up by leaps and bounds - helping with camp chores, paddling, portaging, fishing.

Nice Report Dan! I always wondered what the run through Dorothy, Betsy and Charlotte was like - never tried it. Lauren is a lucky little girl & your a great dad!

Good work Dad and great report. All the pictures really help to tell the story.

Nice job.

I've been making plans for my first daddy/daughter trip. Problem is my daughter is only 15 months old so I've got some waiting to do.

Lauren is such a lucky little girl to have a fantastic dad who takes her on wonderful canoe trips. Keep up the good work dad!
