09/02/2014 04:16PM I was through there in July. The portages are there. From Jean just follow the stream channel through the marshy area to the portage. Then, after passing through a stream channel through mostly dry beaver pond, you carry over an open area of boulders to the unnamed lake north of Boulder. Another portage will take you to Boulder Lake itself. The toughest portage in that area is between Boulder and Your Lake. The maps show two portages via a pond, but the pond is completely dried up, so you have to walk along the west side of the old pond on a vague trail before continuing on to Your Lake. The total length is around 800m. Watch you footing because the dry pond section is largely sedges that hide stumps, etc that can trip you. |

09/02/2014 01:22PM Can anybody enlighten me on the portage from Jean to Boulder? I had read in some previous posts of people not being able to find it, and running into a sea of marshland, and not even making it the the unnamed lake in between Jean and Boulder. I know Hans Solo was considering going through there last month but never did per his trip report. |
