05/27/2015 07:02PM The "new" portage is non-negotiable. It is at the sharp bend in the river where the current is fast and a some fallen trees pretty much seal the deal. You will have to portage that. There is one "mystery" portage others will recall that has been closed with a sign to direct you to stay on the water--an easy float on your way in, less easy on your way out but you have no choice and it is doable. On the other two short portages prior to Nina Moose, I would portage and not run the rapids (unless you want to provide entertaining sounds for portaging partners). Good luck! |
