They were good kids and quick earners.
I have to amend my comment about seeing moose from camp. My buddy got up first one morning and saw a bull moose in the bay behind camp. The moose saw him too and walked off before my friend could get the camera.

I totally agree with Jackfish's comments. I'd say you have "Quetico fever", which is an easy affliction to cope with.

1). We stayed three nights on Jean which is now in my top five lakes.
2). It was fun being there during warmer days when we could swim.
3). Almost no bugs.
4). Caught lots of walleye which surprised me because I think of them as most active in May-June. Bass were less active but catchable.
5). Beaverhouse and Quetico are pretty lakes and pretty big. They are also very accessible and were busy. We had to go to option three to get a site near the BH-Quetico portage the Friday before our Saturday exit. That was around noon too. Not something I associate with Quetico.
6). I brought newbies and they are ready to go back already. Me too. Great trip.
7). Met castaway from this site and his son. Very nice men and that was fun.
8). Saw two bears and several moose on the trip but none in the Q.
9). I love canoeing for its own sake and would do it even if I could not fish. Not sure I felt that way before.
10). Eight days on the water is not enough. I propose that we all adopt ten to twelve as a new minimum.
