02/22/2017 03:50PM If you're up for it, head over to Chad Lake. I've stayed there the past two years at the NW corner site. You'll have the whole lake to yourself most likely. |

02/22/2017 02:30PM We might take a site on Pine for the last night so thanks for the info, Bunker. Our plan is to paddle up into Buck and set up camp for 3 or 4 nights to fish walleyes on Buck/Western/Glenmore. Also planning to take a daytrip to Cummings for smallies and Chad for some largemouth. We don't plan on spending any time on Trout this trip. |

02/21/2017 09:53AM I've used Voyoguer North the last two years when entering EP1. They've been awesome. About a 30 min drive to where we dropped in on Vermilion. |

I see you are from the TC metro area...the U of M has an equipment rental program that is open to the public at rates that are...very competitive shall we say. If you are not opposed to loading up the canoe on your vehicle for the drive up and dropping it off the day after returning it seems like it could be a good deal. Rates for a 17' Bell Northstar for a 5 night trip appear to be $130 which is pretty darn cheap...and includes paddles, PFD's, portage pads and vehicle pads. I have not used them yet but I definitely have my eye on them. Might be a good solution for you: U of M equipment rentals |

02/20/2017 11:14AM We are heading into EP1, Trout Lake, this June and will need to rent a couple of Kevlar canoes. I searched online for any outfitters in Tower but came up empty. Anybody know of anything close to Fortune Bay Casino or Moccasin Point? Would prefer not to have to go to Ely and back if we don't need to (not that it is really that big of a deal). |
