Are the creeks in between Clear water and Lake 3 navigable?

Nope. And an old unmaintained portage is actually between Clearwater Lake (through Rock Island) and Lake Two.

Ok ... so to Lake 2 it would be a complete bushwack but doable or almost impossible? With the fire damage could the portage even be found?

I saw a post or a link on this site that showed some pictures of the fire damage to that old portage; so someone found it after the burn. If the water is high enough, the creek between Rock Island Lake and Lake Two can be paddled.

Yup, I think Inspector 13 is right on with his information.
Did those portages some years b/4 the burn and it was not fun then. The portage from Lk 2 to Rock Island was on the east side of the flowage (30 or 120 rods depending on your source) water levels permitting. Then from Rock Island to Clearwater there are 2 more portages, a shorter 50-80 through the swamp and a long 240+rods. They are both probably over grown since the re-growth from the fire. The 1 site on Rock Island used to be great - now it is closed after the fire. They look good on my OLD 2000 series McKenzie map but times have changed. Could be pretty rough going.
