I've had my eye on one of these for awhile - living down here in Houston it would be a really nice solo craft to use for fishing the bays around here.

I cant decide if I should go with one of these or a Gheenoe

I had the smaller Gheeno for about 5 years and really liked it. Had it tricked out with a 10 gallon live well, excellent seats and a Honda. What I like about it was I was able to get fairly deep into the backcountry and then it responded rather well to the paddle, at least to make course corrections as the tide pulled me along through all the bays and cuts. I sold it within a week of advertising it and ended up getting something a bit bigger.

The Solo skiff looks kinda groovy as well however. Tough call, I would like to take the skiff out and see how I liked it.

My Gheeno was fairly comfortable with an excellent seat and it was common for me to take someone else as well. Easy to jump out and pull it through shallow spots and over bars.

I don't think these are legal in Quetico :)

Cool. I really like the launching / loading rig on the pickup truck. Would be nice to test drive one. For now I must stick with my sportboats although they Don't paddle well if the motor dies- just row.
I like the built in live well seat. Looks worth a test run,

Seems a little heavy to schlep this thing out in the bush. 150 pounds not including the motor nor any gear.
