Morning all -

Ive got my route planned for this years trip and wanted to see what you all think of my first solo! Going in the week before Memorial Day

1 - tow from Moose to Splash, paddle Ensign, Vera, Trader, Missionary, Skoota
2 - day trip from Skoota to Missionary, Neglige, Explorer
3 - break camp on Skoota, paddle Dix, Spoon, Sema, to SAK
4 & 5 - day trip Hanson, Cherry, Topaz, Amoeber & fish SAK hard
6 - paddle length of Knife closer to exit, camp on Knife, Carp or Birch
7 - meet return tow at Sucker.

I know there are a lot of you out there with experience in this area - any good day trip lakes that Im missing out on?

Planning on targeting the topwater bite in the morning / evenings and trolling for LT during the day. Any fishing advice?

Fingers crossed for a good one!

You're not fishing any of my spots, so it looks good to me :) haha

Looks like a nice route for your first solo. Good luck on your trip!

Missionary to Neglige... hmm.. if I remember correctly, Neglige has no designated campsites. That portage is not travelled much, probably with plenty of dead falls.... tough with just fishing gear, TOUGH with a whole campsite of gear. Maybe have that as just a day trip? For fishing?

South end of ensign into ashigan (I think) ? You should try to get to cattyman falls! I am at work and don't have my maps. But that's what I remember.

Right you are. I once got my canoe stuck on a portage. I could not go forward or backward. I have fished Neglige two times. Beautiful lake and there is an old campsite on the far south end that still good as of two years ago. Each time we have been there we caught Brookies. Very tasty.

Cattyman falls is a good day trip. Good fishing on Ashigan. I would like to spend some time there, very nice less traveled area.
