I'm only 2 articles in but I see a few BWCA.com members have contributed stories. Looking forward to reading Quetico Mike's article on late fall smallmouth fishing.

Also I have to give a big shout out to editor Stu Ostoff's article on fishing (Less travelling, more time fishing). He has great tips but most important teaches how to handle fish so they don't die. Keep them in the water in the net while you get the camera ready. Learn the correct way to hold big fish for a picture. Respect this great sport fishing resource we have in the BW/Quetico.

I was recently watching a trip video where the guy had a fairly large smallmouth out of the water while talking to the camera about how great the fishing has been for what had to be at least 2 minutes. I'm like "put it in the water, dude!!"

And I say this as one who has seen 2 large 40" northerns go belly up and couldn't be revived after landing them. It's a sickening feeling to have that happen. I'll be bringing a net with on my solo this fall. Thanks for educating us Stu.

I'm the same way when watching those TV shows. OK, we have seen the fish, put it back in the water already!
