I have a canoe that was last registered in '94. I don't see a registration number on any stickers. Curious to know how I get it registered without that information? Any help?

In MN, all you need is the vin. A bill of sale helps, but I have got it done without in the past.

Yes, I've done that with 3 previously owned canoes. I've always gone to a deputy registrars office or sent it in by mail. Never went to a DNR office.

I usually fill out this form: http://files.dnr.state.mn.us/rlp/licenses/universal_form.pdf

and bring it with. All they really want is the serial number.

Where would the serial number be? The canoe was given to me but don't see any other numbers on it.

All boats manufactured after 1972 are required to have a HIN (Hull Identification Number). On most canoes and kayaks (without a transom) the number should be located in the stern on the starboard side (right side while facing forward).
