By my 5 year old and her pink zebco. Of course I wouldn't want it any other way. Her biggest fish of the day was a 29.5" walleye.

Definitely. Life gets busy but Sunday is family day for us. Especially during our 8 or 9 weeks of summer in Grand Marais.

Getting out-fished is no big deal. I get out-fished all the time although less frequently by 5-year olds.

That's a good day fishing all the way around! Yougotta watch some of those kids rods though, I found out the hard way that some don't have a drag. Still wondering 20 yrs later what my daughter had one on evening.

I love this. I got my daughter her first walleye last week in the BW.

Great Job Dad, my family has a Scooby Doo fishing pole that has kicked my butt many of times.

My wife outfished me too. I just finished releasing this nice fish my wife caught when my daughter hooked her big one. For some reason there weren't many fish where I was casting my bobber:)


I had my fun the weekend before collecting fish for the 4th of July fish fry, including a few nice releases. I hope I don't get stones thrown at me again for posting a stringer photo.

My daughter caught some big walleyes last summer and some nice lake trout this spring. We have a system when she hooks a nice fish. I hold the rod against the gunnel and constantly adjust the drag with my thumb while she reels. The drag does want to stick frequently.
