Trying figure distance from the Little Indian Sioux - north parking lot to Upper Pauness and then Upper Pauness to Shell.

I have McKenzie map # 14, but don't have the distance from parking lot to when the map starts.

If I can get the distance from the parking lot to the 1st portage at the water falls that would be helpful.

Thanks

Using the distance tool on Google maps, it's 1.75 miles from the end of the put in portage to the first portage downriver (Elm portage IIRC). The put in portage is 40 rods.

You can check that with the online Voyageur Maps

2 miles from parking lot to Elm. 3.8 from parking lot to edge of U.P. 2.1 from that point to Shell.

EP #14
- 1.88 MILE PADDLE
- 60 ROD PORTAGE
- 1.82 MILE PADDLE INTO UPPER PAUNESS LAKE
- 13 ROD PORTAGE (SOUTH END) INTO LOWER PAUNESS LAKE
- 1 MILE PADDLE TO SHELL LAKE PORTAGE
- 222 ROD PORTAGE INTO SHELL LAKE

That's our upcoming EP, so I already had a rough estimated breakdown of distances.
