My Jetboil Personal Cooking System had been giving me issues. It is 15 years old. The company told me to let them know which one I wanted and they would send me a 50 percent voucher. I have accessories for the old system though. Who has experience with newer jetboil that can speak to this...basically looking for personal experience advice on the matter. Thanks

FWIW, I have a JetBoil Sol that I've had for quite a few years, but not 15. I like it; no issues except for piezo igniter, but that's not essential. I don't do anything except boil water with mine. It seems like a reasonable offer that I'd probably take.

When I was at the REI Garage sale back in June they had at least a dozen different Jetboil stoves & cooking systems. Nobody was interested in them; I went back that afternoon and they were still there. I just purchased a MSR Windburner system. They didn't even attempt a piezo igniter because that's likely the weakest link that would necessitate returns and poor ratings. If you have the discount you may as well use it.

The windburner is a better stove IMO. We just got back from a week of backpacking and climbing in the Wind River range of Wyoming and our group of 5 all shared a windburner for the whole trip. We didn't even use 1 whole 8oz canister of fuel... Granted that was just boiling water for re-hydrating and making coffee in the mornings, but it was noticeably faster at heating the water than my jetboil was in any kind of wind.

That said, if you have a 50% off coupon it's a matter of whether or not the extra bit of wind protection is worth that 50% or not...

You may want to look at the MSR Reactor, little more pricy, but lights on a dime, and is a beast at boiling water FAST!!
