No I didn't. Lots of elbow grease though. It has some nicks and scrapes to be sure. I cleaned it up real thoroughly when I bought it a few years ago and then buffed it up with some good wax. I switched to 303 this year after doing some research on care. It did restore very well though. The boat was registered in MN at one time but I have not renewed it. I lived in ND up until this summer.

What is the maximum beam? Curious if it could be used as a fun solo.

I'm not sure what that is :). But if you mean how wide is it at it's widest point I can measure it this evening! Here is a link to the golden hawk website. It is manageable as a solo canoe for sure. But I wouldn't call it a freestyle boat :). It's stable. In spades :)

Thanks, I poked around and I think it is 38" wide. That is certainly stable but a long reach for me to solo and I'm more interested in playing around with freestyle than stability. Too bad, I'm on the lookout for an affordable solo just to play around near our cabin.

Sorry about the terminology. In the sailing world we always say beam for width but in canoeing I guess width is more common.
