October 2016 was my first trip to BWCA. Fell in love and plan on making it a yearly event. Last year we went from Murdo up to Crooked and back out in 6 days. Didn't have the best luck fishing, but had a blast trying.

This year we are coming the third week in September and starting at Snowbank. Plan is to get to Adams or Boulder. It will be another 6 day trip.
Is that a trip that can be done in 6 days? We are hoping to do a lot of fishing this year and not as much moving. I haven't seen any reports on fishing from this area. I hope we have chosen wisely.
Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

I have been to Adams a couple times through Snowbank. My group travels pretty efficiently, pretty minimal gear and single portaging. We usually make it to Adams in 2 relatively moderate days of travel (on the water around 8 am off by 1 or 2 pm).

We have had pretty good luck with smallmouths on Adams--don't recall catching many Walleye. I did catch a pretty good sized Largemouth there last year. We camped at the island site and caught a few right off the bank. Otherwise, we did pretty well fishing off drop offs around points and submerged rock piles. Our trip last year was early Sept.

Don't know much about the fishing between Snowbank and Adams. Probably some good lakes, but we typically don't fish much until we get to where we are headed.
