A trio of us old timers are heading up to Loon Lake late this month, we've gone to Basswood in the fall for the last 25 years and decided trying something new. We're voyaging by boat and motor, long past our canoe days. Would appreciate any tips on best camp sites and possible fall fishing spots...many thanks to my outdoor brethren...vermillion qb

Gotta be minnows on jigs right. You probably already know that though.

Muskie and pike likely have the feedbag out as well.

I miss the fish camp / motor boat days. That was always lots of fun to step out of the cabin after a HUGE breakfast and walk down to the dock and get into the boat.

May need a Canadian and MN license for that lake. The locals like the point in the NW area this time of yr. You could also take the Beatty portage to LLC for a day. Several nice base camp sites for motor boats.
