Head up North in about a week to explore the loop from snow bank to lake one going through Ima, Thomas, Alice, and Insula over 7 days. I haven't been to this area before and wanted to see if anyone had areas/lakes they would recommend for layover days to really focus on some fishing. My ultimate goal is try for the grand slam but I'll be happy with a few fish for the frying pan ;)
Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

Thomas Lake will yield everything but I don't believe it holds smallmouth, if it does I don't remember catching any . Great fishing for Lakers, Walleye, northern. Lakers is usually the toughest to catch when going for your grand slam, but I think I could help you out with that if you decide to layover at Thomas.

Thomas is one I've been looking at for a layover day, looks like lots of good options for day trips and fishing. I'd probably get there early on day 2 spend day 3 chasing the fish.

Thanks, Mike. Definitely will, planning on doing a full trip report. Thanks again for the fishing tips. I think I've read your articles 20 times at this point!
