I have a vintage Eureka screened Lean-to that is a bit musty smelling and material feels dingy my plan is to wash it in Nick wax tech wash. do I wash by hand in the wash tub or is a front loading washer OK on a gentle cycle? I will then hang dry it and next spring use some Nick wax UV waterproofing spray to protect it. Does this sound OK or what are your thoughts and ideas to keep this tent in good condition

I’d wash it my hand in a large tub or the bathtub. Then air dry.

After you wash it, if it still smells, I would spray it down with Gear Aid MiraZyme Odor Eliminator. You can get it at REI. I used it on a backpack and it worked very well.
