I like it. One of those sorts of tools where you wonder why you bought it and then you keep finding applications and you end up really liking it. Or not.......I have bought tools with that premise before and never use them. So who knows.

I might get one if I can figure out what to do with it so I can get the right size. Not exactly cheap at $20.

Only one size........what the heck, its only $20 with free shipping from Amazon. I could use it as "Command Central" where I put my belt, hat and sunglasses. I like that it spins freely. I will give a further comment when I get my hands on it.

Really?

I love new gizmos but, the appeal of this one escapes me. I have a dozen better solutions in my gear bag including regular old $7 climbing rated carabiners. I see this as the item you pick up on impulse while in the checkout line at REI but never really use.

That sums it up perfectly. I want to not want one....but I want one

I can see it holding my gravity filter now.........

In my humble opinion, this product is kind of pointless. It's creating a solution to a problem that any carabiner already solves. It's as if they want you to believe you can't clip two things into a carabiner at once. Waste of money.

Naw, what about situations where you can't clip in and instead you use a hook? The fact that the biner can rotate freely already sets it apart. I like to be organized and definitely like specialty tools. Nothing more satisfying in my world than a tool which does a job to perfection. Its enjoyable in and of itself to use.

Will that be this product? I dunno. Time will tell. What I find happening is I get a tool for a one time job because it will accomplish what I need. And then I find myself using it more and more. Just something else in the box is all.

For $20 I will get one and figure out the application when the time arises. It will be like "Aha" I know just what to use. What would be bad for me is if I decide I like them for several purposes. $20 not so bad...........double, triple or quadruple that number and I'm starting to say ouch.

i agree and especially at $20. most things can be done with a single carabiner but if you want the hook function just use 2 carabiners. the bicycle application didn't make sense unless they never hit a bump.

Geez you guys are making me feel bad about my purchase. Well I am going to like it anyways. I'll show you ;-)

Shoot me an email Zski and I will send you one for Christmas ;-)
Got a favorite color?

I'm not a carabiner user, so to me $20 is way outta line.

Yes, I see hooking this over a branch and clipping gear to it. Gravity water filter, bags you don't want mice chewing, a towel you don't want swinging into the tree and getting covered in sap...... I can tie a rope around a tree and clip a carabiner to it but this does seem easier and faster to me.

Now I have to order one......if nothing more than to be contrary.
Also it's my new favorite piece of gear.

Take about 15 inches of rope/cord and tie a loop on each end. Place rope over a branch, then run one loop through the other. Now you have a free loop to clip your carabiner to. Plus it will never come off the branch in a strong wind like that shallow hook could possibly do.

Yea you have to admit the "hook" part seems like it would be fine with weight on it but useless without. An empty "dirty" water gravity bag could easily take flight.

One thing I like however is I can clip in and then hang as opposed to hanging a biner and then reaching out and clipping in. Sort of easier to clip a full bag of water with your arms near your body and then reach out for a less precise hanging of the hook on a branch, plus you get to swivel the biner into a position where less abrasion occurs. Might work very nicely. We will see. Not the first time I have bought something and had it sit. Fortunately this is only $20.

Try dropping a grand on an electric deep drop reel which I have taken on only 2 trips so far. It's fun and you end up with wheelbarrows of fish but that's a lot of dough to use for 2 days a year. Funny how people can rationalize almost anything.

you're cracking me up MT, thanks for the offer but that's ok. I just didn't have the immediate reaction that you did but am sure you'll find an appropriate application for the shiny new tool.

Well I got me gizmo today and it seems well made, I like it.

Its the sort of thing if you have it around you will end up using it. Like wheeling luggage at an airport or even in a hotel room. I am going to leave it out where I can see it for several months and the applications will start to reveal themselves. Some guys carry a pocket knife and I carry a Hero clip (very helpful in a knife fight, while your opponent is laughing you can run away ;-)

Compact, strong, not particularly heavy for its size with an ingenious incorporated hook. Time will tell if it ends up being useful or not.

#1. It's convenient to hang a camp shower bag. It is often removed & refilled--for showers & rinsing the soap off pots, pans, utensils.

Got mine the other day too. It does seem nice and it will be with my gravity water system on trips. When it arrived I immediately hung my daughters backpack from the kitchen counter to impress my wife. She rolled her eyes, which we all know is the universal sign of being awestruck.

MT and others : It looks convenient to hang a water bottle from a thwart or gunwale to enjoy a drink of water while underway. My big gripe with water bottles is when they fall on the floor and roll directly under the seat. They might as well be on Mars then.
