My wife and I are planning to take 2 or 3 of our pre-teen daughters to Ouetico in early Aug. The kids like to swim and we would rather fish. Does anyone know of a spot that would fill both our needs? We don't want to push too far into the park for fear of giving them a bad taste of portaging and paddling. Thanks, Mark

Insula has several camp sites with nice sand beaches, as well as some pretty good fishing. Just south of Williamsons Island is a campsite with a very nice sandy beach. My son and I camped on Williamsons Island September 2001. We would paddle across to the beach to swim. We put in at Lake One.
