Anybody use the hard top version of the Table One? Is it stable enough to put a stove on? Obviously the soft top version isn't.

I have the soft top version. In my opinion because of the light weight, and leg design, it would be dangerous. It would be extremely top heavy and unstable. Although it has a rigid top, I don't think that it's heat resistant.

I was worried about the heat resistance but hadn't considered the additional problem that even if the top is stable, it's all very top heavy. Basically, the possibility of putting a stove on it would be the only advantage I could see to the hard-top version, but it sounds like the soft top version makes more sense. Thanks.

Just bring a 4’x8’ sheet of 1/2” treated plywood and wedge it in the trees.

MDF if flatter, smoother and you won't get splinters. I would recommend a torsion box setup banded with a nice piece of ash with a walnut inlay band. While you are doing the inlay you may as well add the flying moose logo to the top.

Small piece of luan is light, we tie two large sticks between 2 trees and set luan on top, stove goes on the luan.
