Looking to do a shorter 4-5 day solo just after ice out. I've done Trout to Pine lake, and the Clearwater-Alder-Pine loop and had a lot of fun targeting lakers. Any suggestions for a southerly BW lake/loop that will yield some good trout/walleye action?

I'll be hammock camping and I am good moving everyday but like to stay put at least one day, can do ~10 miles a day comfortably (I like to fish while in route and pack pretty light). Opportunities to access good hiking are good too. Thanks!

Incorporate the South Arm of Knife Lake into your trip. Do a loop starting at Sea Gull Lake or one that starts a Moose Lake. The Sea Gull loop will give you more/ better lake trout opportunities but, you should have no problems passing over good water for both species regardless of which route you choose.

I like it. New area for me as well. I've come in the south arm through Sag-Cherry-Amoeber but didn't get to camp. Thanks for the suggestion!
