I don't think copies to purchase are available.... I still have mine and made copies so that the originals don't get damaged. Wondering if there is a legal way to put them on youtube or something like that. If someone would want to undertake this and has a youtube account , I can send you copies. They are pretty neat to listen to... we often have them in the player when heading on a long trip...

Dr Bob,
Having a song on Volume II, I spoke to the folks involved about making the songs available since the CDs are no longer available. They said it was okay with them if someone wanted to do that, so I know if you put them up, it wouldn't be a problem legally. I'm certainly fine with putting mine up (Under The Same Sky sung by Cindy Church on Canoesongs Vol II).
I think you should just go ahead and set up a youtube account and have at it.

I have volume 1 and coincidentally have listened to the whole thing about 5 times in the last 3 days, lol.
I could never find volume 2 to purchase, but would love to add that to my collection.
If it's legal, I could try my hand at uploading the volume I own, but wouldn't get to it until later this weekend or next week.
youTube? SoundCloud? anyone got a preference or know what's easiest?

I'm about out of laptop battery and time for bed, but check this out and see if it works... then I can add others and try to group them as an album.
JERRY/OneMatch - what kind of additional credits should I include to ensure artists are recognized? I copied a bunch of album stuff into comments as well as the main artist's name... anything else?

Well, as you might expect, I'm partial to the songwriter being recognized (there wouldn't be a song without the songwriter). Oftentimes the writer is the same as the recording artist, but it's proper to list both even if it's the same.
Also, the producer - Paul Mills and Executive Producer - James Raffan would be a good idea.
Nice graphic on it all!
@ DrBob, you won't go to jail. As I mentioned before, I've talked to James and Paul and they are fine with putting it out there as everything is out of print.

The museum still should republish them as a set....they are a good listen. Volume 2 is sent to BWPaddler to upload... I included cover and back page. Hope folk get to enjoy them as much as dr Lark (my moose loving wife) and I have for a long time.

Thanks Jerry. I am getting info from this link... album details which sometimes seems to have a lot of details about a song, and sometimes not.
Is there anywhere else with additional information I can pull from? I have my own CD, but not case or cover or anything in writing.
Guessing the producer names are considered part of the "portage productions" credit? But I can add them explicitly to each song easy enough. THANK YOU!

Let me dig out my copy and I'll email you the info that is not on your above link. Give me a couple of days.

Last two Volume I songs are uploading to a Playlist that has them all in order. Probably complete within 30 minutes from now, but I'm heading out for the day.
The graphic is the album cover image I got online. Can't really change that without a lot of work as I built it in to the "video" I made for each song to be able to upload on youtube.
Jerry, when I get the remaining info, I can edit the details/credits in the songs. Feel free to correct me on anything...
There was one case where the song name ripped from the CD was different slightly than the one listed at that link... I went with the link name.
ENJOY everyone!!

Stimpy: "I appreciate you guys doing this. Can't wait to hear the rest of the songs!"
Just sent BWPaddler all the credit info. By the way, there are other great Paddling CDs out there as well. Just sayin'. :-)

Stimpy: "Don't worry, Jerry. You're already on 4 of the 6 cd's in my changer :)"
Wow!!! Thank you!
ps - credits are sent. I have to admit I haven't listened to these for a while and am so glad I took the dust off of them. Great songs and very "Canadian" in spirit. Love it.

Email today from the Canadian Canoe Museum.
Thanks for your email. We are unfortunately out of Canoesongs Volume 1 and 2. I am not sure if they will be reproduced, but if they ever are we will definitely shout it from the rooftops as we have many folks who would love to have them.
Best regards,
Melissa Nagy
Retail & Visitor Services Manager
So hopefully they can get successfully uploaded by BWPaddler for folk to download and enjoy..

I had never heard volume 2 before, and am really falling in love with it (also).
My latest song I am stuck on is the Lessons of the Path and the Paddle.
" Teach me the lessons of the path and the paddle,
And light a Spirit fire in my soul.
Like a fast-flowing northern stream,
Make me wild and make me free.
Let this canoe and You* make me whole."
Words and Music by James Gordon © 2003 Pipe Street Music SOCAN
* I choose to interpret this "You" as Mother Nature.
Love the song, but it has taken up residence in my head!!
Volume 1 and credits done and on YouTube. Volume 2 is in progress and a few songs are up there. Sorry for the fits and starts, working it in around real life.

OK - Volumes 1 and 2 should be on youtube on BW Paddler's channel playlists.
Enjoy! If anyone spots anything wrong with credits, etc. let me know, happy to make changes if there are errors!

OneMatch: "sure do like that song, "Under The Same Sky" !! :-)
Sorry, couldn't help myself.
Thanks for doing all the legwork, Kelly"
You are VERY welcome - thanks for helping me give credit where credit is due!!
I love the Under the Same Sky song, but to be honest, I like YOU singing it better!! That was one song stuck in my head during yesterday's hike...
