QueticoMike: "When does Lake Trout season end in the Boundary Waters and Quetico? I thought I heard 9/30 for both parks, but not sure. Just want to make sure this is correct. Thanks."
The BWCA it ends Sunday April 1 this year. Usually around the end of March. Quetico it is September 30 every year.

But I believe before it ends April 1st in the BWCA ( I may be confused on this) it actually closes from 10/1 to around early/middle JAN when it opens again. Or that might be for lakes just outside the BWCAW. Either way- Lake Trout/Stream opener for most parts of MN (in the winter) is the middle of JAN, and then it closes I believe until the more familiar opener around Mothers Day, but I could be wrong. Too lazy to look up dates.
The two loudest sounds known to man: a gun that goes bang when it is supposed to go click and a gun that goes click when it is supposed to go bang.

The MN DNR website says Trout is open from 5/12/18 until 9/30/18. I am going to assume this correct. Then on 12/29/18 it opens back up until 3/31/19.
So I guess if you plan to do any fall lake trout fishing you have until 9/30. A 9 day fall season.

The 12/29/2018 Trout opener is for lakes IN the BWCA, the opener for Trout in lakes OUTSIDE of the BWCA is two weeks later.
