Doing the morning constitutional and was digging through my Bass Pro catalog and the Flicker minnow caught my eye. The largest size digs to 23 ft.........might make a good mid july walleye prospecting tool and at $6 is sort of a deal.

Several sizes available. Seems like a good thing if your outfitting kids or scouts with affordable quality lures.

Flicker minnow

Wow, quite a color choice........some look positively scary. I really like the blue smelt, slick black pearl and the slick blue alewife. The rest I am not so happy about. But hey, the fun of fishing is doing your own thing............ Just have one of those 3 along just in case ;-)

I have a few of the Slick Black pearl, black and silver, and blue alewife. They have all produced walleye, Small mouth and Pike in the BWCA. For the price you have to try a few.
Also check out the Pro Flash versions of these lures. Work well also.

Nice fish! Big head........

Indeed the Flicker shad works........but how does the Flicker Minnow do? They look interesting to me and fish a bit deeper.

Well now schweady, that's a nice pike! And I have that color of the flicker shad....is there room for one more lure in my box this June? I think so! Great pic!

Have not used the flicker minnow, so I am watching your post, MT, for revelations.

You might be waiting a very long time ;-)

I posted the Flicker minnow because I know the flicker shad is a good lure but the Flicker minnow dives deeper...........and mostly because you cant beat the price! For some folks who have kids or scouts or just don't see the point of spending lots of $ on fishing stuff it seems like a good deal considering the quality, but I digress...........

I have way to many crank baits already to be out buying more. A lifetime supply as it were, unless of course a new and exciting one catches my eye ;-)

Sorry to blur the focus, mt, but I'll post that shot of my buddy's northern at almost any given opportunity. :-) John and the boys at VNO estimated it at 46 inches from the half-dozen or so pics I was able to get, but I guess we'll never know......

For those on the fence, Fleet Farm has these on sale ( $3.99 ) this week.
Apologies for being an enabler.

I see the real secret to your success is having TWO depth finders.........why didn't I think of that ;-)

Haven’t tried it, but was thinking the same thing. Will probably grab a few beforehand my next trip, but don’t need anymore so not a cost savings

So is the flicker minnow the equivalent of a Taildancer? I’m kwow they run at similar depths. But what about the action?

I'm thinking the large size Taildancer runs just a bit deeper perhaps? But the Flicker minnow is 1/2 the cost. Probably a different action but both wobble and thats all you need. I know the Flicker shad is a good lure so I figure the Flicker minnow likely is as well. Love the hooks they use one those lures.
