A bait Shortage was being reported this evening by KSTP due to the late ice out.
TGO: Are you affected by this? Is it leeches or just minnows or fake news to boost sales before the Opener?

Many minnow dealers just getting out to their haunts. Spottail shiners are not present in some creeks etc. yet in the Brainerd area.

The late ice out has made bait in short supply for now. How long this lasts is anyone's guess, but a bait shortage along with an open water shortage may cancel each other out.
