I have a 10 x 14 CCS Tarp that I setting up in a Ridgeline Configuration using prussiks, etc. I assume I should run the ridgeline across the longer 14’ length? I know this is personal preference but wanted the get the advice of more experienced tarp users. Thank you!

I think it really depends on what the space allows.

One thing I learned early on was staying away from paracord with my tarps. I have friends who still use it / prefer it, but I don't like the paracord stretch....I use Poly Cord, I believe 1/8"

That's the way I did it.

I've gotten away from using paracord, as well, because of the stretch, not to mention the bulk and water retention. I use 1.75 or 2mm dyneema.

As far as tarp configuration, I agree that it depends on what the site/space allows.

Another consideration is weather conditions. In foul weather, having the ridgeline on the 10' length will allow for more coverage down to, or closer to, the ground without restricting square footage or height under the tarp, or at least not as much. In my opinion, a wider and/or taller A-frame shelter (viewed from the 'A' side) with 10' of depth is much more usable than a narrower and/or shorter A-frame shelter with 14' of depth.

+1

I've done it both ways.

I leave my Ridgeline on all the time across the 10' side. My tarp is a 10 x 12. I also don't run the Ridgeline thru the last loop. I attach a prussic line to the last loop, so it creates a bit different angle on the tarp ends.

I have the 10’x14’ ccs tarp as well. I run the ridge line on the 10’ length so I can drop down the sides farther depending on weather. We also take the Nemo Bugout if base camping to eat and relax in peace if the skeets and/or black flies are bad. That is rigged on a diagonal ridge line.

Personal preference and depends on the space/trees you have to work with, but that's how I do it - with the same tarp.

Good points from Othello above..... and depending on the # people that will be under the tarp,...I think if it's a 10x14 and there are only 1-3 people, doing the ridgeline along the 10' side and dropping the sides down further would potentially provide more comfortable protection.
