Hello All

I purchased a new Nemo tarp. I did a test set up this past weekend. I assumed I would use my adjustable tarp poles that I had from REI. When I tried to use them they were still too long even at the lowest setting. (The netting was pulled up from the ground level)
What does everyone else use for the side poles? Adjustable trekker poles?

I’ve never used official side poles. Just a really really long flourescent paracord/rope with no poles, or a dead stick from the woods, or a canoe paddle.

I have the 9x9. I've also never used actual poles. I tie the high ends to trees of course, and usually just use guy lines for the low ends, but if I need something I use paddles.

I have the 12 x 12 Nemo Bugout that I use for car camping and non portage type trips as it is a little large for one person to carry on the solo trips I do. I use cheap Coghlans tarp poles on the high sides, guy lines to stakes on the low sides, and a center pole. I also usually run ropes from the high side corners to trees for stability.

+2 we have the 9x9 and toke collapsible poles the first year. We haven’t taken any since. No need.
