"No matter which direction we were heading, including the West to South turn on Jitterbug and the South to West turn on Ashub, the wind was directly in our faces at all times."
Uh huh. Why is that? I've had this happen on many a trip. A mystery of the universe I guess. I really enjoyed reading this. Are you a writer by any chance? I went from Lake one through Insula, Thomas, Ima, etc. and out Snowbank so could relate very well. We always roll the dice when it comes to Snowbank. You made the right decision to wait out the wind.
It's nice that you have a friend like Dan to trip with. Thanks for the story.
