Does anybody know where I could bring my Champlain for a tune up? Meaning, fix scratches, bring back the color from too much sun, from front to back. I thought Wenonah did that, but they don't. Thanks for your help.

have you considered doing it your self, very easy. little sanding, roll on west epoxy.

Is your boat a skin coat or a gel coat. If its a skin coat and darkened from UV exposure the color cannot be brought back. Enough UV and the kevlar and the bond between the kevlar and resin will degrade to the point of disintegration under relatively mild stress.

If it's a gel coat boat the finish can be restored through sanding and polishing unless the UV degradation has reached a more advanced state.

If not in use, keep those composite boats out of the sun.

Outfitters like CBO on Moose lake keep theirs sitting on the dock all summer.... how do they keep theirs looking decent. ???

on this site. just a little lite sanding, vacuum and wipe off the dust, then applied a thin coat of 2 part, west epoxy with a foam roller.
the black was on there from sawbill outfitters, where i bought the canoe.
i just picked up some extra graphite powder and mixed it in and re-applied.
not necessary on your canoe.
24 hour dry time. west

Videos on YouTube on canoe refinishing. If you're not comfortable with the epoxy, just a good sanding and a couple coats of a good spar varnish with a uv blocker will look great.

They sell them at the end of the season (or two) and buy new.

I have an old 1983 Wenonah Odyssey I’d like to refurbish. It is an old Tuff-Weave (fiberglass composite) hull. Originally it was a gel coat finish with a blue paint job that eventually just became faded and chalky. We painted over it with marsh grass paint for duck hunting boat but the blue shows through, lol.

I’m not very handy but my understanding is that I will need to sand all the paint off then apply some sort of epoxy or varnish with rollers? Does anybody know exactly what I should roll on there?

Then I’d like to repaint it a camouflage color for duck hunting again. Anybody know what kind of paint would be needed?
