Looking for a little help with some good fishing spots on Mountain Lake and Moose Lake out of EP 70, far north east BWCA. Mostly interested in walleye, but any other types of fish are good too. Any help is much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I fished Moose Lake about twenty years ago. We caught big walleyes dragging crawler rigs in the basin right after the portage in from North Fowl. One was a 30”.
We caught some Lake Trout on Mountain just trolling some big rapalas. I think we were at the 2nd site in from Moose. We just went back and forth about 100 ft off shore in front of the site.
We also caught a ton of small mouth bass on top waters at the campsite at dusk.
I was told the same thing about Mountain Lake. The guys we fished with on Moose said to troll right in front of the portage from Moose for lakers. Those lakes are halway in Canada so motors are allowed, although you most likely won’t see any. Big lakes - big fish.
