How do you store your packs between trips? I've got about 7 camping/canoeing/hunting packs to store in my trip prepping area in my garage, I don't want to just lay them on the ground and they don't fit in totes. Anybody have any good ideas?

Some of our bags are laying flat on a shelf (those 5 shelf wire racks). I do have a couple hanging up. They do take up a lot of room. We have several internal frame packs and I wonder about the waist belt being folded over for long periods of time so I try to hang our main packs.

Ours are hanging from rafters in the barn so we can see them because we don't have non-existent mice. They seem not to like hanging as much as on the floor.
Mice have actually gotten in a tote. That's nasty when they pee and poop.

All of mine are in our laundry room/closet. It looks like a bomb went off in there! I need to build an addition on to my house so that I can have a "dedicated" canoe/camping storage area that looks anything like what I see above! I've got some work to do...

Yuck. I'll keep that in mind. Most of our totes are quite solid with latching lids but I'm sure with enough time they could chew their way into some of them. So far, they just haven't found our space appealing and there are other heated spaces nearby that should keep them busy.
BTW, our ventilated totes are done just by spending some time with a small drill bit. Things such as tents and sleeping bags are in Rubbermaid Action Packers. Those lids are double layered and so you can drill through them and even if the sleeping bag expands against the lid, little arms can't reach through the lids to the bags. That does require drilling only in the thicker parts of the lids. But so far, so good.
Our packs are in an ActionPacker but I haven't drilled that lid yet.

I may be lucky but my 30+ year old Duluth packs are just laid flat and kept in a dry elevated area and they are in great shape. I may need to re-visit how I store them.
Some nice storage and gear prep pics. My gear prep is my living room and my to go bag takes me a day to get ready to go!

All of my Kondos portage packs go into a large Rubbermaid type tub. They fold in half easily and fit in a tub well. As for my packs for backpacking or day hiking they also either go into a large tub or are hung on pegs on a pegboard.

Dang, I thought we were organized...
We have an area on our basement dedicated to BWCA stuff, but I'm looking forward to further labeling/separating things like Atrain!"
My wife gets the credit for labeling. Next to this is my homebrewing shelf. Great little section of the basement! Having a place to store stuff and also to initiate a gear bomb before a trip is great.
