Anybody use just the plain old Army waterproof bags?

I have ended up with a few over the years but have used them inside duffel bags. anyone have any experience with these in a canoe?

I'd go with rolltop/buckle designs - the Army bags I remember from back in the day had a hokey lacing system that just can't be counted on to work when you need it to.
