One more question. My new bag seems intent on not closing all the way despite my repeated attempts to close it. The fabric seems to cinch and prevent it from closing the last two inches or so. It is the All Mighty bag. Any ideas? I felt like I was on Candid Camera struggling over and over again on what should be a simple task.
I tried one at REI and it seemed harder than my older bags. Probably more bear resistant than my older ones but it did seem harder to close. I'm curious how others have done with the newest ones.
I have an Allmitey, I seem to recall something similiar when I first got it. Do you have the cords crossing across the top? Or maybe the fabric just became more pliable after a few uses.
You have to play with it, too much material is bunching up in one spot. You sort of have to even it out. It will close very tightly. I purchased two new ones earlier this year and I'm glad I let a couple people use them to soften them up a bit.
1st step is to make sure the lines are crossed over each other through the exit holes. If not it will never work.
After that is confirmed. Easy was to close the bag is to use its weight. Pull the strings tight while the bag is suspended. The weight of the bag, plus you pulling will make it seal up tight
