What are the water levels like up in the BW? I heard some areas have been pretty dry for awhile. So are they lower? Normal? Higher?

Three weeks ago Sawbill was high. There's a medium size pond on the west side in a bay just south of the Alton portage bay that was easily accessible via the stream coming out. This is only about the 3rd time I've seen that in 10 years of going there. The water at Sawbill landing was 8-9 in. below the top of the pier. I'd say Sawbill is higher than what I've normally seen there.

Thanks for the update. Anybody else been in the BW or Quetico in the past week? Any water level reports. I saw pictures from Isabella, MN where water levels are extremely low right now, that is why I am curious to hear about water levels in the BW right now.

I am guessing no one on this board has been in the Boundary Waters in the past week or so?
Just trying to get some first hand observations on water levels.
Thanks for any input!

I was just on Brule in the last five days, but having never been there, I have no context to say whether anything was high or low. High would be if water were touching the bottoms of shoreline tree branches, no idea what low would be.

Thank you for your input! Wish you were able to tell if the water levels were low or not. Hopefully someone on this board will be able to tell me what the current water levels are like.

I was over on the Ely side 10 days ago and water levels were normal when we went in and when we came out.

Thanks Tony! I just received an email from Steve Piragis, he needed some fishing advice for a certain lake later this week. He said " Water is super warm and low water levels..... " So I have had a couple of people tell me they are low right now. I had people on here say 3 weeks ago they were high and 10 days ago they were normal and now I have people telling me they are currently low. Just trying to find out what they look like today.

I was in Isabella a few days ago, Little Isabella and Stoney rivers seemed low to me. With no foreseeable rain predicted in the next week, I guessing they are a little low and they will continue to get lower.

That is what started me asking about water levels, a friend sent me pictures from Isabella and she said you could see rocks poking out of the river that she has never seen before. She said what levels are lower than see had ever seen on that river.
