I seen some post about a "Bings Reef" on Alton lake. Is anyone familiar with this particular part of the lake and where it is located?

Names like this are usually made up, I have a reef on Kabetogama called Mel’s reef, named after a friend, my group is the only one who calls it that :)

Look at the MN DNR website maps if you can’t find some good options/candidates then...I don’t know what to tell ya ;)

There is a spot that shall always remain nameless (ok, well maybe it has a name) on Alton that absolutely loads up with fish, both bass and 'eyes. I only encountered it after watching (from camp, alas) two canoes catch more fish than anyone would believe one afternoon and evening. It was nuts...the next day, on the way home, I paddled over the area with a deep diver and figured out what they were fishing.

I won't say any more, but it can be found with a TD11. Get trolling. :)

Maybe Bing has the answer? Zooming in, I see several reefs.

There is probably a reason why no one is speaking of the location. I suggest you do a simple search for Alton Lake for depths and contours and pick out reefs and go fish them and find out for yourself. Maybe you'll stumble upon a spot that's even better than this "Bing's Reef". Just because fish are there one day doesn't mean they will be there the next.

I just checked Alton out on the DNR LakeFinder site, looks like there's plenty of reefs to check out. Looks like a nice lake.

I don't have any TD11's, you won't give up the location so what camp site were you using? :)

Sorry, mate, that would make it too easy. :)

Check out Navionics webpage. Find Alton Lake. It looks like there are several reefs and bars breaking into deep water on the lake that have great potential.

Good fishing.
