Hi, new here and just joined....
Queston? Found a used Encounter for $600.00 and was needing to know what to look
for? Can they be repainted? Repaired?
It is a Tuff- weave and has sat in the sun so it has faded.
I like nice gear but for the money I can overlook some wear.
Looks like it has some peeling, I have not seen it in person, just pictures and it would require a 8 hr round trip to see.
Any help is "Most" appriciated................Link to Canoe.

Thanks,Not Sure.

I'm hoping your screen name is in reference to that awesome movie with Luke Wilson and Maya Rudolph.....

From the ebay pictures, it looks like chips, cracks and spiderwebs on both sides of the boat, and a bent gunwale: not exactly the claimed "Great Condition, mostly kept indoors".
It's a good feeling to give a second life to good gear, but on this one I think I'd keep looking.

Thank You,
That's what I needed to know. I am new to this and Buying from pictures is
not what I excel at or have any experience at.
Passing for now...............
And yes, it is from the movie, there is a lesson in there for us.
BTW, been coming here for a few years to soak up knowledge, now I am
ready to get my feet wet..........

I'm not sure if this is helpful or not, but I picked up a used kevlar prism for $800 a few years ago. It had the usual scratches on the hull, but no patches or other flaws. Deals are out there if you can be patient and wait out the market.
