First time paddle/fish on the Cherokee Lake Loop for Opener this weekend; would be grateful for your early spring lure suggestions and other fishing tips.

Anyone hear of Walleye spawning yet? Thank you all!

For walleye I prefer minnows over leaches or crawlers this time of year. Find current. Current can be generated from the obvious river mouths or windswept points and narrows between islands.

For lakers, I like trollomg spoons or spinners in 20 feet of water in the spring.

Northerns are caught for me randomly while targeting the above two species.
