Well I thought they might have a little more size by being a rather big lake and not a stream.

Can’t speak to Tofte specifically but I do know that along with the big pile of fingerlings, yearlings, and small adults, the DNR will occasionally dump some larger retired “brood stock” fish in for angler enjoyment. I have personally seen some LARGE rainbows cruising the shallows in the period immediately following a stocking effort. Of course you’re far more likely to catch the Cookie-cutter stockies. But never say never.

I caught this 21 inch Rainbow along with 2 more over 17 a few weeks ago. Not Tofte, though.

Here in Illinois,they stock streams and ponds with 10 -12 inchers.. Every now and then they get their fish from Pennsylvania and they're bigger.
Was thinking with some carryover ya might get a 2-3 pounder.
