A Plymouth, MN man caught a new Minnesota State Record Muskie on Mille Lacs on November 22nd. It was 55 lbs. 14.8 oz. and 57.75 inces long.

What a beast!

I didn’t think that record was ever going to be broken. What an amazing fish. Too bad it died, but they tried hard to release it.

Actually I found out in another article that he casted a large soft plastic bait to catch the Minnesota record.

The article says the official world record recognized by most organizations is Louis Spray’s 69-pound, 11-ounce muskie that was caught in 1949 on the Chippewa Flowage in northwestern Wisconsin.

I would think a 7oz Medusa would be more like it. Or maybe a #10 double Cowgirl blade.
