I'm hoping for advice on exiting from Tuscarora to Round Pond. After 11 days in, our packs should be lighter and our portaging routine should be smooth, but would love to hear the pros/cons of each route out. Can anyone help?

The portage to Missing Link will be faster than taking Howl through Snipe. You'd get more scenery through Snipe though. I think you'll be pretty yoked up after 11 days though. My recommendation would just be to take the long portage to Missing Link head-on. It seems pretty well traveled, though I haven't done it myself. Considered that area many times....... one day!

Tuscarora to Missing Link starts with a little hill climb but then mostly levels off and rolls a little here and there. Its a good trail, not very rocky, fairly wide. Its long, but not not that bad. Missing Link to Round is shorter but much more rocky. Even though it is downhill to Round, it can seem like a tougher portage than the Tuscarora portage. The Howl Swamp is a fairly long portage and Copper to Snipe can be a toughie as can Snipe to Missing Link with the small ravine to cross. The Flying, Bat etc route has shorter portages....but more of them which annoys most people and they choose the long Tuscarora portage.

Take the Tuscarora to Missing Link portage on the way out. It had very, very slippery mud (and puddles) on this past Friday due to lots of rain the previous couple days, but it was still a straight forward portage.
