Hola All, so I have never been into this area and am giving it some consideration for a 3rd week of May trip. Couple questions. Was it affected by last years fire? Visually has it recovered from the 2007? fire if it did not get hit last year? Lastly, is it pretty active, I see a bunch of campsites on the lakes.

Any info is greatly appreciated.

I was on Seagull and Alpine in August. No effect from fires last year, and recovery is ongoing from the 07 fires, it's going to take many years to get back to where it was but some pines and cedars are making a comeback. Much of the burnt off trunks have since rotted and fallen over so there are some areas where it's just a big empty rock in the lake and no trees but still very pretty scenery on both lakes. Red Rock only had a tiny portion of the south side effected. Alpine has one island campsite that was not effected in 07 fires and retains the tall old growth trees, its a nice one if you can snag it.

Regardless... It's a great route, we camped on Alpine 2 nights, lots of loons and the fishing is great. Get on Seagull early though and avoid the wind, you'll likely have a tailwind on the way out though most of the Summer.
